The mural! A symbol of teamwork, dedication, and commitment to a community. A part of the all new RushHour Karting facility in Garner, North Carolina.
At RushHour Karting, we’ve always believed that our greatest strength isn’t just our racetrack — it’s our community. As we prepared to relaunch our flagship location in Garner (celebrating 20 years of adrenaline-fueled fun), we saw it as an opportunity to do more than just update our facility. We wanted to reflect the spirit of the people who made those 20 years possible.
That meant building a space that felt exciting, yes — but also rooted in the creative energy and talent that thrives all around us. We didn’t just want a new design. We wanted a collaboration — something that would quite literally leave a lasting mark.
Enter Roxanne, a gifted muralist from nearby Wendell, whose passion for public art and connection to local culture made her the perfect partner to help bring that vision to life.
“To be truthful, the brilliant minds behind RushHour’s design team were the ones to offer me the artwork they wanted to have painted… overall they were the genius behind the mural; I just executed their vision,” she shared.
With humility and drive, Roxanne took our design direction and transformed it into something bigger — a hand-painted mural that now spans the towering walls of our new two-story indoor track (pictured above). But beyond the paint and color, this project tells a deeper story: of trust, collaboration, and what happens when a local business turns to a local artist to co-create something meant to be shared.
“It was pure discipline, esteem and respect for myself that led me to take on a project of this magnitude,” Roxanne said. “The team’s belief in me helped push me through the final thoughts of any doubt I may have had.”
Watching the mural evolve over time (see image below), layer by layer, was a powerful reminder of what this redevelopment was always about: community. Not just showcasing it, but inviting it in. From her detailed process of tracing outlines and scaling sketches by hand, to the thrill of seeing the final design come to life from our second-story viewing area, Roxanne’s work became a centerpiece — a conversation starter, a spark of joy, and a tribute to the creative spirit that surrounds us.

“Up close, it gives a colorful and ‘edgy’ vibe… but once on the second level, every one of them was amazed at the complete image that was formed from afar,” she said.
This mural serves as a symbol at RushHour Karting. A symbol of what’s possible when we look within our own community for talent, inspiration, and partnership. When we choose to create with our neighbors instead of just for them.
“RushHour Karting has always been about more than racing,” said Adam Saad, Owner and Operator of RushHour Karting. “From the very beginning, our mission has been to serve the community — whether that’s through a fun and exciting experience, partnerships with local businesses and schools, or uplifting the incredible creative voices right here in our backyard. This mural is one more way we get to honor that commitment. We’re proud of what we’ve built, but even more proud of who we’ve built it with.”
To Roxanne — thank you for your trust, your talent, and your dedication. To our team within RushHour Karting and all of our partners who made this redesign possible – thank you for your commitment, energy, and dedication. And to every business, leader, and organization in our region: we hope this story inspires you to seek out local voices, to collaborate boldly, and to create spaces that reflect the communities they serve.
Come see what we’ve built — and the community that’s built into it.
